A WIN FOR SUNSHINE COAST
Reroofing Sunshine Coast's Only Four-Court Multi-Purpose Stadium
Caloundra Indoor Sports Stadium hosts some of the biggest sporting events, exhibitions and trade shows on Golden Beach. With the capacity to host nearly 2000 people, this was a big project, and Murphy’s went above and beyond to complete the commercial reroofing in style, on time and on budget.
The stadium was in need of reroofing to address water ingress problems that would have compromised its safety and structural integrity. The project plan was designed in 23 stages to allow multiple crews to work on it at the same time. Our team installed steel columns and new roof sheeting was laid and fixed in the new purlins. Temporary flashing was used to keep the building watertight during the reroofing works.
One of the challenges we faced was that the stadium is close to residential blocks and disruption to local road users was unavoidable. Our professionals carefully managed this to minimise risk. The existing floor was also delicate, which meant that heavy-duty floor protection had to be used. Our machines were fitted with white non-marking wheels to keep the interior of the building in prime condition.
With frequent communication with all stakeholders, a problem-solving approach, systematic methodology and close progress monitoring, we were proud to deliver a top-notch commercial reroofing job for Caloundra Indoor Sports Stadium. In total, we provided 4500m2 of quality, durable roofing so local sports enthusiasts could get the most value out of this grand facility.
