Commercial Reroofing for Asbestos-Contaminated Roof
We were honoured to work on reroofing the Bakehouse Quarter in North Strathfield. The building was the former Arnott’s biscuit factory site that has been transformed into a vibrant multi-use precinct. The ageing metal was contaminated with asbestos and required specialised hazardous remediation services.
Our commercial reroofing team installed a brand-new metal Colorbond roof, complete with flashings and cappings. The total new metal roofing installed was approximately 5,000m2. Friable and non-friable asbestos was safely removed and disposed of, thanks to our team being licensed in asbestos removal services. Friable asbestos was removed and disposed of using cut-and-wrap methods. The old ceiling sheet and lagging industrial piping were also removed from the original roof. The client also requested windows in the saw-tooth roof to improve lighting, and we were able to design and install custom windows without any time delays.
New, high-quality materials were used on this commercial reroofing job, and communication lines were kept open through regular minuted meetings with the client and stakeholders to ensure agreement on the building process.
